There are four bedrooms in the villa, two guest suites on the ground floor and two master suites on the first floor:all with en-suite bathrooms. Beech wood floors combine underfloor heating for added comfort. Wardrobes have glazed doors and internal illumination. Each bedroom is furnished and decorated individually, with colours ranging from deep aubergine on white to pastel shades.

Carpets throughout the villa have been hand-made to complement the décor. Luxury continues into the bathrooms, with Laufen fittings throughout. Bathroom colours and textures complement their respective bedrooms, but the quality remains high as ever, with power showers and Jacuzzi baths as standard. The master bathroom has a Hoesch steam room and a feature bath.

This villa backs onto the prestigious golf course of Pinheiros Altos, being within walking distance to the beautifully appointed Clubhouse. Originally built some ten years ago, it has recently been significantly remodelled by architect Vaughan Davies to suit the demands of the 21st century. This magnificent villa rests on a plot of 1800m², with the villa and covered terraces taking up just over 400m².

The villa has a stylish, classical look reminiscent of a gentler age. The tones are soft, the theme is light, as large windows and balconies give views of the gardens and adjacent golf course. Outside, the barbecue area is fully fitted with gas supply and granite worktops, and the nearby dining area is ideal for al fresco meals alongside the heated pool.

The garden was designed & created by Algarve-based landscape architects Jardim Vista. Carefully-chosen evergreen Mediterranean shrubs complement the calm of the villa. A fully-automated Rainbird irrigation system and other labour-saving techniques such as layers of pine bark mulch in planted areas reduce maintenance to a minimum. The area of lawn that runs towards and blends with the golf course is allowed to be more natural.

Neat, clipped shrubs sit in terracotta pots by the house and decorative pillars; the lawn is immaculate and always green: the feeling is calm. Water plays over a millstone before trickling onto a beach pebble surround. A small orange tree provides colour and fragrance. And, set south facing to maximise the Algarve sun, the heated swimming pool has paved sun terraces all around.

The attractive kitchen is fully fitted with top-quality units and equipment from leading international manufacturers. The contemporary-style opaque glass fronted beech units and granite worktops are from Proform, and the appliances are from Gaggenau and Miele. Everything to make a cook's life easier has been provided: electrical appliances, utensils, crockery, glassware right down to the bottle opener!

The use of beech wood and glass is carried into the kitchen, allowing the living areas to flow and combine. The adjoining dining area features a glass-topped table and white chairs, reflecting the pale, peaceful theme. From here, patio doors open to a sheltered terrace overlooking the gardens. It makes for an environment that is warm and inviting, with beautiful views of the gardens outside.

Leading interior designers Platform 9 International have sourced the best from around the world. Including Designers Guild and Manuel Canovas fabrics, Bontempi and Ligne Roset furniture and Porta Romana and Artemede lighting.They have also ensured that the finest quality state-of-the-art technology has been used throughout the villa including Panasonic plasma screens and Linn surround sound system. This is a large family room combining living and dining areas, with a feature log-burning fire.

The interior design combines traditional and contemporary styles reflecting the villa's light, spacious feel. Pastel shades predominate, reflecting the deeper greens in the garden. Beechwood and glass add to the feeling of light and calm, and the underfloor heating gives a soothing ambient warmth. Handmade carpets complement the colours and style.
